On Tuesday May 31 Metro STEAM launched a weather balloon, their second launch of the year. The launch team included students: Jacob Nolan, Wyatt Martinson, John Pease, and Athena Claussen.
STEAM's first weather balloon launch was mainly to get video from the onboard camera. This second weather balloon launch added data collection. From STEAM teacher Chuck Tonelli, "We've added a weather station data collector, basically an onboard computer, that’s going to collect data as it goes 80,000 feet above the earth."
